Vidura ka Tila
This monument has been a source of belief among the natives about the rich historical past of India. Vidura, according to the Mahabharata, was the half-brother of Dhritarashtra and Pandu. Here one will come across a collection of mounds, some of which are about 50 to 60 feet high and extends to a few furlongs.
Hastinapur
Hastinapur is the ancient capital of Kaurvas rulers of Hindu Epic Mahabharata. The place however is more famous for its Jain Temples these days. Acharya Kharatargatchh has described 4 stoops (pillars) at the time of his visit. The Shwetambar temple is renovated recently. The establishment of Digambara Temple followed it. Gurjar king Nain Singh renovated Digambara Jain Bada Mandir and Old Pandeshwer Temple. There is also Pandeshwer Temple. It is actually an old temple of Lord Shiva, situated in the ruins of old Hastinapur.
Digambar Jain Temple
Digambar Jain Temple in Meerut is the sanctum of the temple the 6 feet high quite stunning Padmasanastha idol of Bhagwan Mahaveer Swami which is established on the first altar. The idol is endowed with calm and pleasing effect. The 5 feet high Padmasanastha idol of Bhagwan Parshvanath surmounted by 11 serpent hoods is established in the third altar of this temple and it looks quite striking. The one stunning 'Samavsharan Mandir' is also built here.
