Climate
The climate of the state is generally hot and humid. The average maximum temperature is 35oC in May-June and the average minimum temperature is 10.5oC in December-January. The average rainfall is around 230cm/annum. The monsoon starts generally in April and continues upto September. Summer starts in March and continues upto May and is followed by rainy season extending over about three-four months (May-August). The pleasant season lasts only for about two months (September and October). Then follows winter which continues up to February.
Education
Among all other North-Eastern states of India, Sikkim has the best educational infrastructure. In last few years, there has been a phenomenal growth of education in Sikkim. The state has quite a few pre-primary schools and CBSC affiliated Senior Secondary Schools. Unsurprisingly, Sikkim has won the title of 'Best performing small state in Education' in 2004 and 2005 and also the 'Skoch challenger award for best use of Information Technology'. Higher education in Sikkim has been smoothened by the rapid growth of various colleges and institutions in Sikkim.
Cuisine
Tripura has preserved its culinary culture and has a diversified food as the state has many tribal groups. Bengali is the largest community in Tripura and their choice is non-vegetarian food having fish as an integral part of their cuisine list. Most of the household serve genuine Bengali dishes. If your choice is non-vegetarian food, you will adore Tripura. They take rice and fish mainly owing to the close proximity of West Bengal State. The people of Tripura have slowly given up their traditional attire but are maintaining the traditional cuisine.
Culture
Tripuri culture is a rich and composite culture which upholds the traditions of various tribes like Chakmas, Garos, Maslums etc. There are total nineteen tribes in Tripura and all of them have their individual contribution to the overall development of Tripuri culture. All the tribes have their individual dance forms. The main dance forms are Hozagiri, Lebang Boomani, Jhum, Garia, Mamita, Hai -hak etc. Tripura also has a long tradition of making exquisite crafts from cane and bamboo and also wood carving. Long association with poet Rabindranath Tagore has added luster to the cultural scenario of Tripura. The state has also produced famous musicians like Sachin Dev Burman and Rahul Dev Burman.
History
The history of Tripura is a long drawn story which dates back to the time of the Mahabharata. At the very helm of the Kingdom of Tripura, encompassed the whole of Eastern Bengal stretching from the Bay of Bengal in the South to the Brahmaputra river in the North and West and Burma in the East. The earliest trace of the history of Tripura can be found in the Ashokan pillar inscriptions. The history of Tripura points out that around the 7th Century the Tripuri Kings with the title of 'pha' which means father, ruled from the Kailashahar region in North Tripura.
Language
Bengali is the most important and dominant languages of the state, next to Bengali comes Tripuri which is mostly prevalent in Sadar, Khowai, Amarpur and Kailashahar sub division, besides some areas adjoining the Chittagong Hill Tracts. Halam is the mother tongue of that tribe and Rankhal, is their dialect which is considered to be an offshoot of the Halam dialect. Most of the Halam can follow Tripuri language.
Literature
Tamil is one of the two classical languages of India. It is the only language in that country which has continued to exist for over two thousand years. It is spoken today by approximately 65 million people living mainly in southern India, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Malaysia, Africa, Fiji, the West Indies, Mauritius and Reunion Islands, United Kingdom, United States and Canada. Tamil is the pre-eminent member of the Dravidian Language family and has one of the longest unbroken literary traditions of any living language in the world.
Religion
The main Tripura religion is considered to be Hinduism. The people who belong to the ethnic groups of Tripura are immensely influenced by the religion of Hinduism.

The people of Tripura take part in a number of religious ceremonies. A few popular religious ceremonies celebrated at the place are Kharchi, Maikwtal and Mamta, Hojagiri, Ker, Ama, Bisu and Sena and Hangrai.
