Kabi lungtsok is an historical place which is 17 km from Gangtok on the North Sikkim highway. This is where the historic treaty of blood brotherhood between the Lepcha Chief Te-Kung-Tek and the Bhutia Chief Khey-Bum-Sar was signed ritually. The spot where the ceremony took place is marked by a memorial stone pillar amidst the cover of dense forest.
Chungthang is situated about 100 kms away from Gangtok on the way to Yumthang is the small town of Chungthang in North Sikkim surrounded by high mountains that seem to touch the sky. At an altitude of about 1585 m (5200 ft), Chungthang lies at the confluence of the Lanchen Chu (Tista) and the Lachung Chu.The spot worth visiting at Chungthang is the rock on which legend has it, Guru Padmasambva rested and the imprint on it is said to be his footmark. There is a small opening in the rock, which remains filled with spring water.
The place offers one of the most spectacular views of Mt. Khangchendzonga and its ranges. A well known Tourism wayside accommodation for visitors is also available. The area also has a number of interesting short nature trails for 1 to 3 days along the higher ridges of the surrounding hills.
Yumthang, its about an elevation of 11,800 feet and 14 kms from Gangtok is a paradise for the nature lovers with a fascinating blend of flora and fauna and breathtaking scenic grandeur. The valley boasts a large variety of Rhododendrons and other alpine flowers. Yumthang tsa chu or the hot sring of the left bank of lachung chu is immensely popular for its curative properties and heal ing power. It si an wonderful tourist sport at north sikkim.
