Aritar Lake is situated near Rhenock which is about 3 km from Gangtok, and it is one of the important places to visit at east Sikkim. Trekking is one of the famous entertainments here. Private huts and lodges are available for the trekkers.
Hanuman Tok is one of the important temples situated at east sikkkim, where the presiding deity is Lord Hanuman. This temple is situated at a distance of 11 km from Gangtok; Hanuman Tok is a tranquil place that also offers incredible view of the encircling mountains.
Jawaharlal Nehru Botanical Garden
Jawaharlal Nehru botanical garden is situated near rumtek Monastery, and maintained by the parks and Gardens unit of the Forest Department of the Government of Sikkim, the Garden is an enchanting and soothing experience among the lush green vegetation, rare plants and trees and certain species of Himalayan flowers and Orchids.
The Ridge garden is an important tourist spot in east assam which is situated at gangtok. It is just about five minutes walking from the main market. The Ridge has the White hall and the Chief Minister's official residence on one end and the beautifully designed Palace Gates on the other. The ridge is lined with plants and trees when in bloom are a riot of colors.
Enchey Monastery was built in the year 1909. This Monarchy stands on a spectacular ridge with views across Gangtok and as far as Mount Khangchendzonga Surrounded by prayer flags this 19th century Nyingma pa Gompa is a heaven of tranquility.
Orchid Sanctuary is simply a pleasurable delight for any nature-lover. Located right below the Institute of Tibetology in Gangtok, Orchid Sanctuary boasts of not less than 454 species of orchids that are found in Sikkim.
