Laxmi Narayan Temple is situated at the Arera hills; this temple is dedicated to the Hindu god and godess Narayana and Laxmi. This temple was built by birla group. This is the home for the Narayan and laxmi, the godess of wealth and prosperity. Apart from Laxmi and Narayan there are other idols too like there are shiva with his wife parvathi. It is one of the important places to visit at Bhopal.
Rashtriya Manava Sanrahalaya
Rashtriya Manava Sanrahalaya is a kind museum was set up in 1974 and sprawls over an area of more than 195 acres. In addition to exhibiting the nationТs rich heritage, the museum also showcases a large collection of Tribal and folk arts from all over India. But what makes this museum extra special is the fact that it is the sole museum in the world displaying a rich collection of painted prehistoric rock shelters.
Taj-ul Masjid flaunts being one of the largest in India and occupies an important place among the various places of tourist interest in Bhopal. The erection of this mosque was started by Shah Jahan Begum that took place during her reign from 1868 A.D. to 1901 A.D., but it was never accomplished in her lifetime. Construction of the mosque was completed in the year 1971 by the efforts of the Government of India.
Moti Masjid was built by Qudsia Begum's daughter Sikander Jahan in the year 1860 A.D. and is identical in style to the Jama Masjid of Delhi. The two dark red minarets covered by golden spikes add to the grandeur of this beautiful masjid.
Sadar Manzil is located near Shaukat Mahal and is an equally attractive site. Even today, the place highlights the bygone grandeur of the Nawabi era of Bhopal. It served as the hall of public audience of the erstwhile rulers of the place. Sultan Kaikhusrau Jahan Begum, daughter of Shah Jahan Begum, also used it as her private palace.
Upper Lake and Lower Lake
The two artificial lakes named Upper Lake and Lower Lake makes Bhopal a major tourist attraction in Madhya Pradesh. Upper lake is divided from the lower lake by an over bridge.. The aquarium is near the Lower Lake houses a number of alluring species of fishes and thus a celebrated spot of tourist.
