Jama masjid is situated at the centre of the ahmedabad city. It was built by sultan ahmed shah in the yer1423. Jama Masjid is the biggest mosque of Ahmedabad and stunning to say the least, with its 260 pillars that support 15 domes at different elevations. The Hindu style of architecture is seen on the walls and the niches of the mosque.

Ahmed sham tomb is siuated at just outside the east gate of the Jama Masjid. Ahmed shah�s son and grandson, who did not long survive him, also have their cenotaphs in this tomb. Women are not allowed into the central chamber.

Bhadra Fort was built by the city's founder, Ahmed Shah, in 1411 and later named after the goddess Bhadra, an incarnation of Kali. There were royal palaces and a garden inside the fort.

Jhulta Minara or swaying minarets are a part of the mosque of Siddi Bashir and can be swayed by applying a little force at the topmost arch. One of the minarets was partly demolished by an Englishman in his endeavours to unravel the mystery of the swaying minarets. The mosque was obviously built by master craftsmen and the crucial mechanism that causes the vibration is still a mystery.

Gandhi Ashram is one of the important tourist attractions in Ahmadabad is the Satyagraha Ashram, set-up in AD 1920 on the lull western banks of the Sabarmati River.

One of the important place to visit at Ahmedabad was Calico Museum, it is one of the finest textile museums in the world with a collection showcasing rare textiles and costumes dating back to the 17th century, as well as furniture and crafts. Various styles of weaving are on display, patola, opulent zari, bandhni, pashminas from Kashmir.

Kankaria Lake is an circular lake constructed in AD 1451 by Sultan Qutub-ud-din, the Kankaria Lake offers tourist places of interest like the island garden known as Nagina Wadi, parks, an aquarium, a boat club, a natural historical museum, and a zoo.
